My purpose is to seek a full understanding of you or your child so that the best diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan can guide your steps going forward. Neuropsychological assessment involves gathering historical medical, educational, psychological, psychiatric, and other information which is then integrated with data from a comprehensive evaluation of current functioning. I invite you to collaborate with me to find the clarity you need in diagnosis and treatment.
I am a Licensed Psychologist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Neuropsychology. I am a professorial emerita and previous Director of Clinical Training in the School Psychology Graduate Program, Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry, and Clinical Supervisor in the Department of Clinical Psychology at Michigan State University. I taught advanced doctoral and medical students about the neurobiological bases of learning and behavior, advanced pediatric neuropsychological assessment, and professional ethics.
Long interested in the neuroscience of learning differences, I have researched this topic using neuroimaging and neuropsychological assessment methods, focusing in particular on social and academic functioning. I have lectured to academic audiences about my work all over the world, including Italy, Botswana, Turkey, and Taiwan, and authored many academic papers about children with learning and developmental challenges.
You can find me in San Diego California and in Ann Arbor Michigan.
I take a collaborative approach to assessment and consultation, working with psychiatrists, medical doctors, schools, therapists, psychologists, families, and individuals to help my patients find diagnostic clarity and treatment direction.
